Mottled Skin Cold Hands And Feet

Mexploitation: MACHETE

MACHETE
(USA 2010, directed : Robert Rodriguez)

Machete Cortez is tough as nails , bad to the bone, short a motherfucker as bad as they come . He is anything but beautiful, at least in the traditional sense. His face is wrinkled and pockmarked like a moonscape, his body brawny and massive, his oily long untamed hair, face, topped by a black walrus mustache. Danny Trejo plays this machete - an archetypal Bad-guy actor, whose real life seems to him the logical choice for such roles at a young age drug addict and petty criminal, a total of eleven years in prison, including San Quentin for drug offenses and armed robbery, before he as an actor himself and took away from the road.

Trejo Machete is a special breed of hero. No white knight in armor like Antonio Banderas in Robert Rodriguez '"Desperado" (1995), the the showdown in a white flash disappears and re-born after the shootout winner as it emerges. No sympathetic half portion as Carlos Gallardo Rodriguez 'debut "El Mariachi" (1992), his best film next to the TV production "Bad Boys Never Die" ("Road Racers" in 1994). Machete is more of a hero already as Marv (Mickey Rourke) in "Sin City" and closer to the dark comic book universes Frank Miller, which oscillate between pop-fascism ("300") or post-hardboiled noir ("Sin City") . Here are dumb meat mountains, the anti heroes who fall in love with a bitch with a heart of gold, and its opponents to shoot to pieces and castrate pedophiles with bare fists.

As these heroes, the Mexican Made the body of a cartoon character. At the very beginning he does with knives and guns down a half army cuts off heads, torsos severed in half in the middle, chop, cut out and massacres. Then he finds the Damsel in Distress , almost completely naked, giggling woman balanced on the shoulder, only to be emasculated shortly afterwards in a quiet moment of it almost. The wound is not addressed in the course of the film, like the wounded later machete simply a raw egg on his sick bed is healthy again - or Santería the screenwriter is due. Otherwise specifies "Machete" is a refreshingly free (and often: rude) relationship to the human body and its abilities to light. As our hero slits to about an opponent, grabs the intestines and used them as a lifeline when he jumps out the window to have a floor to vibrate more deeply through a window in the next room.

The plot is absurd nebenrangig to such exhibits and wanted listless glued together from the set pieces of trash and Exploitationkinos. This again is quite consistent with lies "Machete" but the film historically unprecedented Case of a film before, who as a template a fake trailer. The unusual genesis goes back four years to Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's joint project "Grindhouse" (2007). When the two buddies flying off her double bill stage, as they filmmakers asked to contribute this wrong, deliberately trashy trailer. These trailers were actually the best thing about the double feature (and we of course can not be seen in theaters): Eli Roth provided the greasy trailer for the slasher "Thanksgiving" from Rob Zombie the crazy Sadiconazista "Werewolf Women of the SS" and Edgar Wright-Lucio Fulci tribute called "Do not". Rodriguez himself was "Machete", the long version is now available also.

at the idea and the plot of the trailer has become the way to full-length feature film hardly changed: a lone - unique feature: knife-fighter with a preference for machete - used by politically right-wing conspirators as a scapegoat, losing his family and must, together with his brother (Cheech Marin, one half of the dauerbekifften duo "Cheech and Chong" as a shotgun armed priests) and Mexican immigrants compete against the evil exploiters to take revenge. In addition, covering the full version Jessica Alba as a bona fide immigration officer, and Michelle Rodriguez as a revolutionary, a played by Don Johnson, right-wing sheriff, Steven Seagal as a sadistic drug czar and Robert De Niro as a crazy presidential candidate - in a sense the flip side of his "Taxi Driver" role as a frustrated politician bombers. The result is as entertaining as the trailer then, only just longer. But that Rodriguez sympathized with the right people - immigrants and Declassified - and at least cinematically away with the real bad guys - the corrupt cops, exploiters and pushers - and in his trash film at the end even a social revolt, houses the reconciled yet with some. Otherwise, "Machete" is a 1-A-Flick Mexploitation, including Santo-shortest appearance, and everything that goes with it: plenty of stereotypes, and joyfully celebrated sex, violence and good humor. No more, no less. With a six-pack and a few friends is all a hell of fun. Alone or for a couple evening possibly unsustainable.
